Dr. Kim Hunter-Jermany holds a Doctorate of Psychology with a Specialization in Clinical Psychology degree from Capella University. She began her studies in 2011 when she began her journey into the field of psychology. Kim has a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology, which she also received from Capella University. She works with individuals from all populations, from children to adults, and is passionate about helping others. She specializes in psychological evaluations assessing autism in young children, adolescents, and adults. Psychological assessments for veterans, neuropsychological assessments, bariatric & pain evaluations. She provides psychotherapy for work in individual and family therapy, crisis intervention, and psychosocial education with patients of all ages.
She also provides psychological evaluations for various schools, organizations, and companies, including clinical interviews with adults requesting disability or vocational services. She also offers assessments and diagnoses for children of multiple ages to adequately be accommodated in a school setting and receive additional psychological services. Make relevant mental health diagnoses, recommendations for medication evaluations, and suggestions for additional services to meet the client’s needs.
She utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy, reality therapy, and solution-focused therapy to treat affective disorders, anxiety disorders, phobias, personality disorders, adjustment disorders, geriatric issues, women’s issues, chronic pain, and sexual abuse issues.
When Kim is not volunteering, she works hard to educate others as a professor, volunteering at her church when called upon. She has a deep understanding of early education and working towards building better bonds with parents and their children for them to be more involved in their children’s education. She loves to help children and just people in general. When she is not working or helping others, she enjoys time with her family, outdoors, and pets, as well as relaxation and peace. She also enjoys cooking and fishing, and, most importantly, above all else, she loves her Lord, God, and Jesus Christ.
