Dr. Tailyn Gillette was born and raised in Odessa, Texas, which is also where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Art from the University of Texas- Permian Basin. Dr. Gillette completed her doctorate in School and Health Services Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Her doctoral internship took place in Arlington, Texas, where she administered various mental health assessments to children from a wide variety of backgrounds, including those from foster care, those with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Throughout her clinical training, Dr. Gillette has worked with both children and adults from diverse backgrounds and presenting with a diverse set of pathologies such as trauma, ADHD, Autism, and other psychopathologies. She also has a background in school psychology and knowledge of the educational system. She uses this knowledge to fine-tune assessments with this knowledge in mind.
In the therapeutic setting, Dr. Gillette strives to provide her patients with a safe and welcoming space to express themselves and to work through various problems while allowing patients to feel heard, valued, and understood. She utilizes an integrated approach of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Psychodynamic Therapy to provide her patients with the space to analyze their current circumstances, combined with the experiences of the past, to maximize their potential while helping them reach their therapeutic goals.
