Dr. Ruby Treviño grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and graduated with her B.S. in Counseling Psychology with a minor in family and marriage studies from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. She then received her M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. Dr. Treviño earned her Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in California. While in the doctoral program she focused her research into the impact of family separation and its relations to trauma, depression, and anxiety within families. During that time she also trained under a neuropsychologist who focused on patients with traumatic brain injuries during a clinical practicum.
Dr. Treviño has experience working with children, teens, adults, and geriatric patients from a multitude of backgrounds. She recently completed her Pre-Doctoral Internship working on Social Security disability cases, surgery clearance, neuropsychological assessments and immigration evaluations for Homeland Security. She has also assessed and diagnosed patients who suffer from Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder, among other disorders. Dr. Treviño is also a native Spanish speaker.
