Dr. April Staples is a licensed psychologist offering therapy and comprehensive psychological assessment for children, adolescents, and adults. Raised on a reservation and deeply rooted in her Indigenous heritage, Dr. Staples brings a culturally responsive lens to all of her work, with a commitment to improving mental health outcomes for marginalized communities. Her doctoral research focused on Indigenous mental health, and she continues to advocate for equity, voice, and healing in underserved populations.
Since 2020, Dr. Staples has specialized in psychological and neuropsychological assessment, helping clients untangle complex diagnostic concerns including trauma, anxiety, ADHD, autism, and mood disorders. Known for her skill in differential diagnosis and treatment planning, she provides diagnostic clarity that guides meaningful, long-term change.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Staples is an adjunct professor of psychology, teaching courses such as Introduction to Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Human Lifespan Growth and Development, and Biological Psychology. Her clinical orientation is grounded in depth and existential psychology, and she often incorporates bibliotherapy and narrative work to help clients explore meaning, identity, and healing.
